Astrid, 28th September 2008
I spent 12 hours with my boy today and rode him for the very first time. He is truly outstanding... What a unique horse! His personality is incredible, and riding him left me speechless. He really is all that I've looked for and more. He is EXACTLY what you described him to be... I want to thank-you for such an amazing horse. I am so lucky!
Kind Regards,
Ashley
Hi Astrid, 11th October 2008
Sorry it has taken so long to write. Very busy time of year with Finals.
"TY" without a doubt is the nicest horse I have ever had the pleasure of training. I have trained probably upwards of 400 horses so you can understand my enthusiasm with him. We obviously took a gamble buying him off of a video and never riding him. You were extremely up front and truthful, I really felt confident in his ablity to "be a good boy". My only question was how long it would take to train him to do his new job. Again your confidence in him was clearly verbalized to me even though I saw things on the video that I wasn't sure my amateur could handle. Thanks to you we now have one of the nicest horses in the country for his new chosen career!
I have huge plans for him and I want to make sure I steer people directly to you that ask "where did we get him". Maybe you could send me out a bunch of your business cards. You should still have my address. Please write or call when you come accross another of his "type".
Thank You,
Amy Moran Gurney

Hi Astrid,
I thought I'd give you a quick update on Ty. He's simply amazing!
I took him to a small schooling show (in an indoor) on October 12th just to see how he would be and he was GREAT! He was reserve champion of the hunter division. We've begun to develop more of an understanding of eachother, so riding him gets easier each day! I think we may go to Florida for the show circut in February... it would be nice to get some warm weather as we've already had our first snowflakes this year!
I can't express to you enough at how grateful I am to have this wonderful horse.... I have probably had about 30 horses since I was a little girl, and this is the very first horse that I can safely say I will NEVER sell. Riding him is the best, but I even enjoy hanging out with him at his paddock or in his stall. He knows who I am now. When I walk down the hill to go and see him and I call his name he whinnies to me. He loves to play with my hair! He's always twitching his nose on my shoulder, and checking my pockets (He ia always looking for more treats!)
OH! and he is a model for Smartpak Equine now. He will be featured in their next catalogue. His photos aren't up on the website yet, but keep a look-out for him at www.smartpakequine.com (I know he modeled a dressage bridle, a halter, and some sheets).
Anyway, I attached some silly little "hang out" pictures. I will send some pictures of the next horse show we do (November 15th).
Hope all is well!

Hi Astrid and Joyce! 29th September 2008
I wanted to send you an update on Cordilay. I have recently won 2 Championship classes on him and two different shows!!!
We scored 72% on all our rides!!! It seems to be our lucky number. Ha Ha.
We also received Highpoint at both championships!!! Anyway, he has been such an AMAZING BABY! We still love him to pieces! Thank you so much for him! I will continue to keep you updated!

Hello Astrid - The boys came through quarantine in good shape - Andreo ran a fever the first night but a little bute took it right down. We picked them up Fri and got home in good time on Sunday and they have settled in nicely. Andreo is a bit concerned about the other horses, especially the mares, and oddly enough seems to be the more nervous of the two in strange situations. We got ambitious and entered them in an in-hand dressage class yesterday at our regional show but decided not to take Andreo since he nervous about trotting on a lead line and we weren't so sure we could handle both of them in the same class. We took Arnoud and he was a hit, winning not only his 3 year old class but also the colt/gelding class, the young horse championship class and the show's grand champion class. After 4 rounds of trying to run fast enough to show off his trot I'm feeling like I need to be in better shape! We have sent a picture taken at home after the show. Andreo went over later in the day to just "look around" and was very good - everyone was impressed with how good they both were for three year olds. Needless to say we are tickled with them! Thanks again - you have been wonderful to deal with and made our experience horse buying overseas a pleasure!. Sandy

Dear Astrid, 12th September 2008
I think Danielle said that she was going to call you to let you know the news, but in case she didn't the horse that I bought from you in May has come good! "Robbie" (Robin when you had him) won his large novice riding horse class at the British Show Horse Association Champs, before going on to be crowned Champion Novice Riding Horse of the Year! To top it all of, he was 1st reserve supreme on Friday night!
This was only his third show. He was 3rd in his first novice class at the North of England (Danielle was horrified as she thought he should've walked it!) and was 5th at Garstang in a HOYS qualifier (I personally thought he was very hard done by!). He was beautifully behaved throughout, giving the judge a foot perfect ride and going spot on in the championships, under all the lights and with the music and clapping.
To top it all off, he got his HOYS ticket on Saturday, so Birminham here we come.
Danielle says he is a delight.
Many thanks - I will let you know how we get on and will send you a picture for the kitchen wall. I am so pleased with him!

Hi Astrid
Got the pictures in from Pony Club Interbranch and the Championships, just thought I would send you a copy of the best ones to let you see how much they've changed.
I have worked on my mum and dad along time about the black horse that I saw when I was down with Allison and Gemma but they are not going to budge on letting me have another horse to add to my collection.
Thanks again for selling me two lovely horses!

Dear Astrid, 28th August, 2008
Just a quick note to update you on the AMAZING Blingh. We just started riding the first level freestyle three weeks ago, and this past week end he scored an incredible 78.49% and 76.458%. People stop me to tell me what a fantastic animal he is!!!! If my math is right, he is 2nd in the country for freestyles for year end.
THANKS, pam

Hi Astrid 20th August 2008
A year ago I bought a four year old from you named Tim nice but dim, I changed his name to William (Wilco on his passport) he is such a sweetheart we have bonded so much in the last 12 months, we have done so well I half qualified for the regionals with 68% just missed out but we are going to the area festivals in September 08. Last Sunday we won on 70% and and it was a winter qualifier he is such a good lad we have just come back from Oldencraig training travelling 6 hours in the horse box and not a peep from him he is such a good youngster, he hacks in busy traffic and it is not bothered one bit. I even had a go at the Bd Young horse Novice qualifier and our best score was at Manor Grange and half way in the field we got 75% he scored 8.2 for his walk he is amazing when he concentrates!. I have been training with Sarah King since last winter who has helped me no end as this is my first youngster I have learnt so much in the last 12 months and still loads to learn. We have taken it slowly as me and William are learning together but we are getting better and better thankyou so much for such a super boy and exactly what I asked for we have has so much fun, laughter and tears! Oh before I forget he has grown since 16hds he is now 16.2 hds he-he hopefully that is it for growing! P.s. if I get time I will try and send some pictures of him.

5th August 2008
Hi Astrid & Hayley
In December my daughter Sarah and her trainer Marie Kent came to you to look for a new dressage horse (the money had been loitering in my bank for a year waiting for the right horse!) Their choice was a very handsome almost 4 year old gelding called Nassau - now renamed Zander. I thought that I should contact you with an update on his progress.
Zander settled into his new home and routine increadibly quickly. He is loved, worshiped and adored by all who meet him. He has a fantastic attitude to work and is a very fast learner. His 4 year old moments are so few and far between and so easily dealt with that they are not worth mentioning. He can be cheeky but just enough to make him interesting & fun - Sarah could never do boring!
We have taken things slowly, as although he is a very fast learner, Sarah has been concentrating on her exams. He enjoys hacking alone or in company & is never silly or strong, now that he has learned that there are no alligators in Scottish steams he enjoys playing in the water. Last week we took him to his 1st dressage competition at the Scottish National Equestrian Centre ( a very spooky venue for a 1st outing) . We went with the attitude that this was to be purely an educational exercise and if we got into the arena we would be very pleased . I have to admit that, having seen numerous young horses at competitions, I was rather nervous. I shall never doubt him again! He didn't put a hoof wrong & even although he was intrested in his surroundings he seemed to realise he had a job to do. He trotted off with a matching pair of red rossettes scoring 67% ahead of 25 other horses in each class (scoring higher marks that the majority of the affiliated horses) & qualified for the Blue Chip Festival of Champtions in October!
We shall be taking him to a few other unaffiliated competition over the next few month in preperation for his affiliated career which we intend to launch this winter. I shall send further updates with pictures. Thank you so much for finding the best possible horse for Sarah.

Hi Astrid,

Finally found the time to sit down and email quotes and
pictures of Zilano (aka Mr Z). Since purchasing him from
you in March 2007 he has exceeded all expectations.
As a three year old he was shown in hand winning Best
3-year-old Dressage Horse and taking the Reserve
Championship at the North East of England and winning
the Potential Sporthorse Class at Stanhope Show.
In 2008 he has been consistently placed at Preliminary
level, and we already have our qualifying marks for the
Petplan Equine Area Festivals. His biggest success to
date has been winning the Shearwater Young Dressage
Horse Qualifier at Manor Grange in May with the highest
score of the day 8.56, scoring 9 for his trot, 8.9 for his
canter and 8.8 for general impression!!! So we will be
heading off to the Young Horse Championships Final at
Addington in August. Judges love him too, below are just
a few of the compliments he has received: -
'Wow - what paces, he must be lovely to ride, would like to take him home'!!
'Fabulous young horse'
'What a lovely little horse, already carrying weight behind and keeping the
forehand light (especially in canter!)
'Some very pleasing fluent, supple work'

Hi!!
I have been meaning to write and up date you on Lauries progress for ages! He is doing really very well and prooving to be a bit of a star in the dressage arena! We have been to 4 shows and he has come back with 7 first rosettes (some in classes of 25 +), consistantly gaining percentages of 70% and above. He is an absolute pleasure to own (although the 2 weeks box rest after an injury was a little taxing for both of us, we pulled through it and he's back on track) and he is fast becoming my best friend!
We've done a little jumping at home, he doesn't look at anything filler-wise and has quite a jump on him! He has an amazing personality and is so laid back, he just takes everything in his stride and people at shows can't believe he is only a 4 year old.
I'll keep you updated on his future progress! Thanks Astrid!

Just got back last night from the boys' second outing in two weeks. They were both superstars!! Roman (Wilmer) had a great weekend last week, earning a 67++%. Good enough for second out of 16 in the test of choice class against training through fourth level horses!! This weekend he just went to school and was perfectly behaved.
It was Blingh's(Woodstock) turn to shine this weekend. He was an absolute HERO. His first test was reasonably flowing with just a little bit of distraction. He won his class of 20 with a 67%. His second class was in the pouring rain with mud up to his ankles and puddles of water everywhere. He just put his head down and marched around the arena like he'd been doing it for years!! We took second with a great score of 69.5%! He LOVES the horse show experience like no other horse I have been on. He waits at the door of his stall to go out and perform.
The bottom line is that the judges LOVE both horses and are willing to give them scores if I ride them correctly. Photos from the show will be here at the end of the week. I'll send some on.
Thanks again,

Hi there!!! I just wanted to let you know that I took Cordi to his first show this weekend. It was a CDI, so the judging was extra tough. He was an absolute SUPERSTAR!!! He won all of his classes and got a 68%, 70%, and 71%. The judge also stood up and said to me "very nice horse" at the end of both my rides. I am a proud mommy!!!
Thanks so much, Carrie and Cordi
P.S. He got 8's for his gaits

To Astrid
You sold me Wonder Boy by Inspecture last September, and I just wanted you to know (now named Raz) is doing fantastically.
I just started stepping up the training with the spring approaching and he taking everything in his stride. We are having dressage lessons regularly and his walk trot and canter are to die for, his lateral work he does with ease and his attitude towards his work could not be better. My instructor thinks he is to die for and feels we make a great partnership that will go far. So fingers crossed.
I really feel I could not have found a better horse for me, we have such a great relationship on the ground, and he is a very loving young horse. And a real hit on the yard.
So thank you so much Astrid and Team.

Hello Astrid
Don't know if you remember a 3 yr old 16h bay horse that I bought from you just over a year ago.
Thought I'd let you know that I took him to his first dressage competition at the weekend and he came 2nd with over 65%.
The judge said "what a lovely young horse, showing lots of potential with loose, elastic paces". I've attached a few photos.
He is very well behaved at home and out and about - he is an absolute star and everyone's favourite - he can charm the birds from the trees !!
He absolutely loves jumping too and has jumped me off a couple of times because he's got so much spring and energy - have had to get myself some extra sticky breeches !! He jumped 2 clear rounds at his first jumping competition.
I'm really looking forward to this year to progress his jumping and dressage career - will send you some more pictures later in the year.
Thanks for selling me such a fab horse!

Dear Astrid, December 2007
Just wanted to let you know that 'Buckingham' (now Harvey) is doing absolutely superbly !! He tried it on at first but after having regular professional lessons in hand and ridden, he has become the most settled well mannered horse and so loving!!!
Don't get me wrong he still has the odd relapse, but only in a 'hey I'm still a baby' kind of way.
Hopefully in the spring we will step up his training and by summer take him to his first shows, where I can't wait to show him off as his 'paces' are to die for, as you know!!
I will send some photos soon , thank you for selling me this wonderful horse.
Merry Christmas Astrid.

Dear Astrid and Hayley September 24th 2007
Thought i would get in touch to let you know how great our two boys are that
we bought from you in the Spring. The stallion, now called Atlantiano is
amazing, a frightening amount of scope, proving to be a handful at shows but
we can forgive him that as he's such a poppet at home.....well most of the
time!! Arizona ( chestnut horse) is a star, he really could excel at any
discipline and chloe and I are arguing over whether he should jump or do
pure dressage, she's winning at the moment but i do have him home for 1 week
in 4!! They are both jumping discovery's now and are rarely out of the placings,
just starting newcomers, but we're taking it slowly as they are both so talented
it would be a shame to push them too soon. I've attached a photo of al to
this e mail and will send some others, these were taken a while ago (2nd
show i think), i'll get some up to date ones and forward them. Hope your
well, any problems with the e mails, let me know and i'll send some prints.
Kind Regards

Hi Astrid & Hailey 5th July, 2007
Just to let you know Wolfie won at Royal Norfolk and was Reserve Champion last wednesday so has qualified for the RH at HOYS which is fab.
Hi Astrid & Hailey, 8th June 2007
Just wanted to let you know how Wolfie is getting on, have also attached some pictures from Herts County - bit grey as was chucking it down with rain. Hopefully send you some better ones for your wall.
Well he is being a complete star, everyone loves him, he is lovely natured (complete sweety with my toddler), never puts his ears back and does everything that is asked of him. We are still waiting for a sign of naughtyness, only thing he has done is tow Rob across the horsebox park at Windsor and BSHA Southern Spring show which was quite amusing to watch!

Results
BSPS Area 15 - 1st ISRT (first Show)
BSPS Area 17 - 1st ISRT & Res Ch (RIHS Qualifier), 2nd Open RH (was a bit tired!)
South of England Spring Show - 1st Novice RH
Four Winds - 1st Novice RH
BSHA Southern Spring show - 2nd Novice RH (highest small RH, beaten by Kate on the Queens horse)
BSPS Area 8 - 1st Open RH & Res Ch (RIHS Qualifier)
Royal Windsor - 5th Novice RH (highest small RH and only amateur placed)
Herts County - 2nd Open RH (RIHS Qualifier, beaten by Kate again!)
Midland Counties - 1st Open RH (RIHS Qualifier) & 4th ISRT (HOYS Qualifier with new jockey)
He is off to South of England tomorrow to do an ISRT and then I will take him to do Open RH (HOYS) at Royal Lincoln and Shropshire & West Midlands when I am back from holiday.
Thankyou so much for finding him
Best regards

Hi Astrid
Walter arrived on Thursday. He had a straight through ride from California to Houston. He was the only horse on the truck and had a box stall all to himself. He is in perfect condition. He came off the truck took a look around and went right to the first green spot he saw and started grazing. My mare also likes him and she doesn't like any horse in the whole barn. We are at a horse show this weekend so I will start riding him on Monday. I will keep you updated.

Hi Astrid APRIL 2006
Just a quick update on Kelvin - he's now 6 years old
and working Med/Adv med - not done a lot competitively
cos we've been concentrating on training over the
winter but looking fab! He's stopped growing upwards
at 16.3hh (thankfully!) but is filling out and muscling up nicely.
He went on a Conrad Schumacher clinic before Christmas and
Herr S said that he was a perfect example of a well brought up
and correctly trained young horse.... which was nice!
He's still the nicest and easiest horse to handle, still loves
people and loves going to parties -
Best wishes

MAY 2006
Hi Astrid,
Rebecca Hutchison here. I bought 'Velix' from you in January, a chestnut Jet Set gelding.
Thought you might be interested to know how he is going?
I am really pleased with him, he has got a super temperament (if at times bit cheeky) and is showing a lot of talent for dressage. I have not competed him yet but am looking at working towards the 4 and 5 year old national dressage horse classes in the future.
I have just started hacking him out and he is doing well.
He has grown and I would think is definitely over 16.1hh now but we haven't measured him as yet.
All in all, I just wanted to let you know that I am happy with him and think that you did a good job in matching us!
Could you please send me that picture if you still have it of him as a scrawny 2 year old? I will send you a picture of him as he is now if you would like?
Also, I have passed your name on to other people looking for horses, so I hope you can help them too should they contact you.
Cheers
Rebecca

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS TELL US ABOUT THEIR HORSE HUNTING EXPERIENCES.
"we feel like children in a sweet shop - there is so much choice here"
"it's such a relief to find everything *as described* after we have travelled miles"
"it's reasuring to know that a 16.2hds horse WILL BE a 16.2hds horse.
We were told when viewing one horse (after a journey of over 2 hrs) going to see a supposedly l6.2hds horse, got there only to find it just about 15.3hds. The vendor was insistent that it was "bigger than her friends horse" and that was 15.2hds.
"went to view a bay horse - when we got there it had huge white legs, a big white face and splashes of white under it's belly. The seller replied when we questioned him "well it's mostly bay"
"travelled 250 miles to see a horse - it wasn't until its owner took off it's rug that it was revealed that it was branded with an "L" (for an insurance write off - loss of use) The vendor just shrugged and said it didn't affect it's performance!!"
