By Democraat This is Dougie's second visit to the Championships, his first was in the 4 yr old Shearwater Young Horse class where he was placed when ridden by Damian Hallam under his former name Winner. Dougie as he affectionally known was given this stable name after an unplanned swim in the nearby river Douglas as an unbroken 3 yr old. He had to be rescued by 3 Fire Engines and accompanying burly fire men!!! Dougie was purchased from us as a surprise birthday present for Karen Woodward.

He is an amazing horse, he and Hayley went to the Nationals, the first big show away from home, he travelled well and occupied his small wood stable in the stallion section. He ate his food and drank water and settled really well. He was impecably behaved at all times throughout the 3 days he was there. He was in a very strong class of "named" riders and he held his own and came out on top of his form and did us very proud. He has the potential, temperament and talent to be an international horse.
